If we are supposed to accept punishing the wealthiest Americans with a heavier tax burden then why,?

are Taxes so damn high on gasoline, and are punishing those of us who are not wealthy? Is this a fair assessment to blame it on Oil speculation, and not the current administration as the media did when Bush was in office? Is this just more of the same of trying to shift responsibility onto the few who can afford it, so we can all feel better while still getting gouged by the tax and spenders, and the rich keep on living their lives basically unaffected? Why is it that the press give Obama a FREE pass and say that he cannot control the price of Gasoline, but Bush could when he was in office?
