On young and restless why does ?

wow! why was so dang dark at that mansion that colin and all that craziness took place at it was hard to see hardly what was going on, but than it seem that y&r is always the darker settings of the soaps, and why is it that wen one of the actors die are leave the show, like wen jana died , i know she was nuts at the end ,1day she was there and than next day she was gone,and gc is so small that wen some big event does take place only people involved know about it are u have to read it in restless style,strange,,,,
