CORRIE. John Stape! what garbage!?

when did Corrie turn into Eastenders? It's got ridiculously involved storylines (John Stape), violence, shouting, people threatening each other, etc. Corrie used to have humour in it. Now it's just misery. Tonight's episode - all that Colin Fishwick/murders/kidnapping/breaking into Fizz's bedroom, dressing as a doctor, falling off the roof of the hospital, and yet.......John is ALIVE? Absolute crap!!!
